Searching for Your Family's History? Try FamilySearch!

By Sue Schlichting, Professional Genealogist

There are many great resources out there to help you find out about your family's history. One FREE resource is FamilySearch.  We will explore the power of this tool for your personal family research.  From family trees to original records to the research WIKI and digitized books, there is a treasure trove of great information to be found on their website.

Even if you are already a FamilySearch user, there are so many different ways you can use the site that you'll likely gain some new tricks and tools to add to your genealogy toolbox.

"Pursuing YOUR Past" lead researcher Sue Schlichting is a native Nebraskan who has more than 30 years of research experience including FamilySearch.  She has expertise in Midwestern research with an emphasis in Homestead records, Quaker, Swedish and German records.  Sue enjoys sharing her passion for family history with young people through interactive experiences and tours.  The "Family History Detective Roadtrip" was a popular workshop shared with teens across Kansas during the past ten years.  Sue is a genealogist, speaker, teacher and coach.
