We Are America Runner

This custom designed runner from Ekelund, shows the typical journey of a Swedish immigrant traveling to the United States in the early 20th century. Leaving from the Gothenburg customs house, Swedes traveled on the Swedish American Line across the Atlantic to Ellis Island. Many continued onward to the Midwest and settled in Chicago.
